The following is a list of some characteristics of good language leaners. Check it up and see if you are a good language learner. If you are, congratulations then. If you are not, try to make those characteristics yours.

A good language learner is:
confident in his/her ability to learn
self-reliant
motivated and enthusiastic
aware of why he/she wants to learn
unafraid of making mistakes, and
unafraid of what he/she doesn't know
a good risk-taker
a good guesser
probably positive in his/her attitude to English language and culture
a good pattern perceiver
prepared to look for opportunities to come into contact with the language
willing to assume a certain responsibility for his/her own learning

Not all students will possess these virtues! The list is given to encourage you as much as possible to become more autonomous in language learning.
