2. Lead-in

 (If there are new students in the classroo)

T: Who’s that boy/girl? (Point to the boy or girl)

New S: Thank you.

Present the word “welcoe”. Teach the Ss how to read and reeber it. (wel-coe)

Add “back” in the sentence “Welcoe to our school.” It changes into “Welcoe back to our school.” At the beginning of this new ter, teach Ss to use this sentence, and practice it after class.

3. Presentation and practice:

(1) Good orning, y dear friends. Welcoe back to our school. I’ so happy to eet you all. But where are our old friends Yang Ling, David, Su Yang, Su Hai and Helen. Let’s go and eet the. (Show one part of their pictures and ask questions as followings)

T: Who’s that boy / girl / an / woan?

S: He’s / She’s…

T: Who’s that girl? (Point to Helen.) (Aid: Card)

S1: She’s Helen.

T: Who’s that boy? (Point to Gao Shan)

S2: He’s Gao Shan.

(2) T: Now it’s your turn. Who’s that boy ? (Point to one of the Ss)

S3: He’s XXX.

T: Who’s that girl? (Point to a girl)

S4: She’s XXX.

T: Great. Now, who wants to ask e?

S5: (Point to another girl) Who’s that girl?

T: Oh, she’s XXX.

T: Now, I think you know how to use this sentence pattern, right?

T: Practice it with your desk ates, let’s go.

(3) Let students ask and answer in pairs. Then check several pairs.

Show the pictures of Part C. Ask and answer.

Write soe key words beside the pictures like r Brown, doctor, etc.

6. Play a gae:

(1) Act and guess

He’s / She’s a student / teacher / doctor / nurse.

(2) Show the students own photos

7. Production:

(1) T: Today you’ve brought soe photos also. Now please take out you photos and talk about your photos with your good friends.

Ss always get excited when they play the words copetition, they can spell out any words, that is good; but soeties, they just want to win the gae, just find ore words which they don’t know, so I ask the to find the words which they can read, spell and say the eanings, otherwise the words they find are useless. This is a good way to enlarge their vocabulary.
